Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes
Overview
The Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes Project seeks to develop more inclusive, and accountable governance institutions, systems and processes. It improves the supply side of governance by enhancing the capacity of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the Senate and Provincial Assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. Moreover, it supports the demand side by developing the capacity of civil society in advocacy and civic engagement. Increasing the representation of women, youth, and minorities informs all aspects of programming. The two main activity strands are to provide support to the ECP, and strengthening the legislative institutions. The Project is structured around two key strands: Electoral Cycle Support to the Election Commission of Pakistan and Strengthening Legislative Institutions.
Objective
The main objective of the project is to reduce the Female voter deficit by reaching out to areas where women do not tend to register for their CNICs.
Description
To achieve this target Nishat Welfare Organization continuously collaborated with NADRA and ECP and organized Mobiles Van to register the CNICs of Women. Registration of CNIC is the first step towards the Vote casting which will lead the legislation and true representation of people.
Nishat Welfare Organization is doing its best to facilitate the women of District Hyderabad and creating a better opportunity for Women to make them Registered at NADRA and Have their own Identity Cards and Creating opportunity for them to participate in election and using their Right to vote.
The Nishat Welfare Organization has actively participated in the project for this previous election to make most of the women participate in previous election. The Nishat Welfare Organization registered 3000 women at NADRA in previous election to ensure their participation in previous elections and efforts are continue.
